Valid element names
XML names can’t start with a digit or contain spaces, so headers such as “Unit price” become “_Unit_price”. The data itself is never changed.
Limitations
We’d rather be upfront about what this tool can’t do yet:
- Formatting and formulas aren’t exported, only displayed values.

Are my files uploaded?
No. Everything runs inside your browser on your own device, so your files are never sent to FreeToolsDaily or anyone else.
Can I convert XML back to Excel?
Use XML to JSON, then JSON to Excel.
