GST calculator
Add GST to a price, or work out the GST included in a total — with the CGST and SGST split.
How it works
How to use the GST Calculator tool
- 1
Choose add or remove
Add GST to a net price, or remove it from a GST-inclusive total.
- 2
Enter amount and rate
Pick a standard slab or type any rate.
- 3
Read the breakdown
Net, CGST, SGST, total GST and gross.
The formulas
Adding GST: GST = amount × rate ÷ 100; total = amount + GST. Removing GST: net = total ÷ (1 + rate ÷ 100); GST = total − net. For intra-state supplies, GST is split equally into CGST and SGST/UTGST; inter-state supplies are charged IGST at the full rate.
Example
₹10,000 + 18% GST = ₹11,800 (CGST ₹900 + SGST ₹900). Removing 18% from ₹11,800 gives a net of ₹10,000.
Limitations
We’d rather be upfront about what this tool can’t do yet:
- Rates change by government notification — confirm the applicable slab for your goods or services.
- Cess and reverse-charge cases aren’t included.
