Built-in safety checks
Every entry is checked before extraction. Paths that try to escape the folder (“zip slip”), symbolic links, more than 10,000 entries, and suspicious “zip bombs” — archives that expand to enormous sizes — are blocked.
Limitations
We’d rather be upfront about what this tool can’t do yet:
- Password-protected (encrypted) ZIPs aren’t supported.
- RAR and 7z archives aren’t supported.
- Up to 1 GB uncompressed.

Are my files uploaded?
No. Everything runs inside your browser on your own device, so your files are never sent to FreeToolsDaily or anyone else.
Is it safe to open a ZIP from a stranger?
Extraction itself is safe here, but the files inside could still be harmful — don’t open executables or macros you don’t trust.
