Split PDF
Pull out the pages you need, or break a long PDF into several smaller files.
How it works
How to use the Split PDF tool
- 1
Upload a PDF
Choose the file you want to split. Page thumbnails appear so you can see what you're working with.
- 2
Choose how to split
Click pages to pick them, type ranges such as 1-3, 7, 10-12, or split every N pages.
- 3
Download
Get a single PDF of your selected pages, or several PDFs downloadable one by one or as a ZIP.
Three ways to split
Pick pages works best when you can see what you want, like a signed page or a single chapter. Ranges suits longer documents where you already know the page numbers: each comma-separated range becomes its own file, so “1-5, 6-10” produces two PDFs. Fixed size cuts the document into equal chunks, which is handy for upload portals with a page limit.
Writing page ranges
Use a hyphen for a range (4-9), commas to separate parts (1, 3, 5), and leave the end open to mean “until the last page” (12-). Ranges are checked as you type, so you'll see right away if a page number doesn't exist.
Limitations
We’d rather be upfront about what this tool can’t do yet:
- Password-protected PDFs need to be unlocked first.
- Links that point to pages you didn't extract will no longer work in the new file.
- Thumbnails are shown for the first 300 pages; larger documents can still be split by range.
