Authorised use only
This tool removes protection only when you supply the correct password — it never guesses, cracks or bypasses passwords. Use it for documents you own or are permitted to access, such as statements, payslips and e-tickets sent to you with a password.
Limitations
We’d rather be upfront about what this tool can’t do yet:
- You must know the password.
- Documents with digital rights management (DRM) from e-book stores aren’t supported.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Are my files uploaded?
No. Everything runs inside your browser on your own device, so your files are never sent to FreeToolsDaily or anyone else.
Can you unlock a PDF without the password?
No, and we don’t try. Breaking protection on documents you aren’t authorised to open may be illegal.
Why do banks password-protect statements?
To protect your data if the email is intercepted. Keep unlocked copies in a secure place.
