How it works

How to use the Audio to MP3 tool

  1. 1

    Add audio files

WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, FLAC, MP3 or video.

  2. 2

    Choose bitrate

    128, 192 or 320 kbps.

  3. 3

    Download

Save MP3s individually or as a ZIP.

Choosing a bitrate

128 kbps is fine for speech and podcasts; 192 kbps is near-transparent for most music; 320 kbps is the MP3 maximum. Converting from a lossy format (like M4A) to MP3 can’t improve quality beyond the source.

Limitations

We’d rather be upfront about what this tool can’t do yet:

  • MP3 is lossy — keep your original lossless files (WAV/FLAC) for archiving.
  • 300 MB per file.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Are my files uploaded?

No. Everything runs inside your browser on your own device, so your files are never sent to FreeToolsDaily or anyone else.

Why does the first conversion take longer?

The first time, your browser downloads the FFmpeg engine (about 30 MB). It’s cached afterwards, so later conversions start almost instantly.

Are song tags kept?

Basic metadata such as title and artist is copied when the source has it.
