Why convert WebP to JPG?
Images saved from websites are often WebP. Some older photo editors, office software, printers and online forms still don't accept it. Converting to JPG gives you a file that works everywhere.
Limitations
We’d rather be upfront about what this tool can’t do yet:
- Animated WebP files are converted using the first frame only.
- Transparent areas are filled with your chosen background colour, because JPG has no transparency.

Frequently asked questions
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Conversion uses your browser's built-in image engine, so your pictures never leave your device.
Will I lose quality converting WebP to JPG?
At the default 90% quality the change is negligible. Both formats are lossy, so avoid converting the same image back and forth repeatedly.
Why can't I open WebP files on my computer?
Some older programs don't support WebP. Converting to JPG is the quickest fix.
